Additional Options
Custom Separation
If none of the standard drive patterns fit your unique application, we will design a separation to your specifications. Accurate within 1/64 inch.
Corrosion Protection
For  high acid or salt conditions we recommend our Imron Polyurethane paint for extra protection.
If necessary, we also offer stainless steel rollers, stainless contact points, or an all stainless Sizer. The Sizer can also be provided with triple-seal ball bearings throughout to provide long-life service in harsh environments.
Portability
Heavy-duty casters with a swivel-locking feature bolt onto the legs for easy movability. Also available is a cart and hitch to take the Kerian Sizer right into the field. The compact Kerian Sizer can also be incorporated in a machine harvester.
Takeaway Conveyors
Single, double, or triple belt tables carry your product to either side of the Sizer. Included are channeling for separate lanes and side delivery as needed.
Elevators
Peg apron or finger flighted belt elevators, either  stand-alone or
sizer-mounted, are designed to "fit" with the Sizer.
Lubrication Systems
Centralized lubrication panels and automatic roller lubrication simplify maintenance procedures.
Over-End Roller Assembly
Allows delivery of large product off the end of the sizer.
Increased Vertical Takeaway Clearance
Added as needed for chutes or flumes. Rigid platforms raise the Sizer to any desired height.
Variable Speed Operation
Variable speeds can be achieved either by mechanical or electrical adjustment.
Roller Tables
Our Roller Grading Tables provide an effective, efficient and
affordable way to keep your product constantly rotating when
manual inspection is required.
Why do more than 400 packing lines use Kerian sizers?
Fast
Grade and sort up to 100,000 lbs and 9 sizes of produce every hour. Customer requirements change? Make adjustments on the fly and have the packing line up and running again in minutes.
Gentle
A patented roller drive system keeps produce in constant motion, which eliminates stress points and keeps it free from damage. The result is more product graded as premium.
Accurate
Size everything from melons to blueberries within 1/64 of an inch of the sizes you need. Special flaps also keep the product spread out and aligned so that sizing remains consistent.
Simple
All mechanical with no software involved, Kerian graders are easy to operate, adjust and maintain. Train anyone to run the grader within minutes.
Reliable
Built on a frame of rigid 2 x 5 steel tubing, graders are designed to run for decades in a barn, warehouse, the field or near the shore. (Machines sold in 1977 are still running strong.)
Affordable
Kerian offers the only non-optical graders gentle enough for vine ripe tomatoes and  accurate enough to sort blueberries by size for less than a tenth the cost of optical graders.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do you make a grader for my product?
Most likely, yes. More than 150 products including potatoes, tomatoes, blueberries, walnuts, shellfish, mussels, guava and more are being graded on Kerians around the world. The best way to know for certain is to reach out to one of our engineers. They are happy to help.

Can your grader achieve the sizes I need?
Yes. All Kerian graders are custom-built to your needs and are easy to adjust if your needs change.
What do your graders cost?
It depends on which product is being sized, the number of sizes you need the produce sorted into and the required capacity (e.g. tons/hour). Click here for a fast quote.
What will shipping cost?
It depends on your location. Click here for a fast quote.
What type of rollers are used and what do they do?
Again, it depends. Rollers types are matched to the produce you need to grade, which helps ensure little to no damage to the end product. Below are a few examples of the roller types that can be used on Kerian graders:
Urethane Rounded Spools
Urethane rounded spools provide maximum support and protection  from bruising for apples, tomatoes, plums, etc.
Plastic-Covered Rollers
This design creates a long slot for the product to enter. Ideal for most products including long potatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, etc.
Rubber Spools
Rubber spools provide a 4 point slot for produce, providing sizing similar to ring sizing for round potatoes, onions, oranges, etc.
V-Shaped Spools
Sometimes called "Mushroom Spools" these Urethane  Spools orient oval or flat products by large diameter. Ideal for flat mushrooms, strawberries, flat onions, etc.
Do your graders come in stainless steel?
Yes. Kerian graders can be built in all stainless steel, mild (painted) steel with stainless steel contact points, or in most any configuration you require.
How much time does it take to build and deliver the grader?
This can vary based on the type of grader being built, but lead time is typically between 8 and 14 weeks.
Will the grader run in a tough environment? (unwashed product, outdoors, etc.)
Yes. The grader is extremely rugged and we can provide references that will tell you it is a very low-maintenance machine.
How do I feed the grader?
With an elevator, conveyor, bin dumper, or even by hand.
Do you sell used graders?
No. We only custom-build new graders.
